2024 Malbec
REGION: Wilyabrup, Margaret River
VARIETAL : 100% Malbec
VINE AGE : 20 Years+
ALC: 14.2%
MATURATION: French oak for 10 months
PH: 3.69
TA: 5.40g/L
NOTES:
2024 Malbec is the first vintage of this varietal under the Via Caves label, although the first of many to come. The Malbec in 2024 simply looked to good not to bottle as its own wine.
Spending 10 months in old oak, we have been able to maintain the freshness and elegance that first captured our palate’s during our blending session in January 2025. There is a delightful dark fruit weight, ripe plums and black berry’s, supported by smooth subtle tannins, with hints of dark chocolate.
The fruit from the Via Caves vineyard is 100% certified organic, and the average vine age for the Malbec would be about 20 years. 250 cases made.
